For as long as I can remember, Dad has been creating wonderful things for and with me. (Mostly for, but I've always been happy to bask in the glow of having "helped"/helped.)
These days, the wonderful things have slightly longer longevity than the old sand dragons and castles we used to build. Replacing the old shed (above) was a building project we undertook this spring.
Nowadays there are grandchildren to help, too. The boys particularly enjoyed the demolition phase.

The resident princess was also happy to slip into her boots and lend a hand.
We could barely keep up with our "retired" parents as they were here day after day putting together this work of art. (Seriously. It's a good thing they at least stop for coffee breaks!)
When the building was finished the boys helped me stain the outside, and M (another great Dad!) took care of the roofing, pool equipment, and electrical.
We love how it transformed our backyard. Thanks so much, Dad - not just for directing this project, but for all the creativity and hard work you've liberally shared with us over the years!
I think #30 is quite happy to spend a peaceful Sunday evening just watching baby putter around this place...
