A big thanks to Kerri & Adam for hosting this at their place!
He Has Granted Me a Home
Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth? He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, That He may seat him with princes— With the princes of His people. He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord! - Psalm 113:5-9

Stepping Back in Time, Queenston Heights & NOTL
After a rainy start, the skies cleared for beautiful day touring Queenston Heights & Fort George with our homeschool group.
I didn't know what to expect of the Brock's Monument tour, but it turned out to be quite interesting as tour guides in regimental costume retold the history leading up to the Battle of Queenston Heights and walked us through the events of that battle, while hiking and stopping at various points of interest.
There is a narrow and tall spiral stair with just a small indoor landing at the top.
After a picnic lunch we moved on to Fort George in NOTL.
The tour guide was quite amusing. :)
Afterwards I talked Marike and Zay into talking a little stroll around beautiful NOTL.
It felt great on this hot day to wade in the cold lake!
Zay wasn't sure he could walk any further, but Marike's brilliant idea to stop in town for ice cream helped get him moving again...
Sadly, Taylor's (the place with affordable cones) was closed, and to avert significant disappointment I resorted to letting them share a $7 gelato. 🍨😬
Such beautiful colors. 😍
